Well.. that’s kind of a shame. I understand not wanting it to become overgrown, but the grass is a big part of the charm of the Flat Creek Trail. Thanks for your report, and your kind words Dennis.

We get on the trail & find the Park Service had taken great care to weed whack every blade of grass 2’+ on each side of the trail. No leg tickles for us. It was just funny that my wife & I were talking about the grass on the way over & poof, all gone. The trail is beautiful, shady & cool so well worth it. You are right, a great family trail. June 16 & beautiful weather and only met a group of 3 hikers & 1 couple at the picnic area. I stay away from the crowded trails but thought a few more folks would take advantage of this beautiful area on a great summer day. Thanks for your trail reports Jeff, they are appreciated.
