Big fan of yours. Looking through your site for a place to Hike Sunday now. Wanted to share, after reading your Cades Cove hike blog, 4 friends and I hiked it on Tuesday 5/17. I left my home in East Asheville at 3:15 am and made pickups in West Asheville, Waynesville, Whittier and at the Oconaluftee Visitors’ Center. The five of us began our hike just before 6:30 with some drizzle off and on. We had 2 separate bear sitings along with deer, turkey and a coyote (on the drive over) and were extremely grateful. Beautiful hike! Thanks for pointing us this way. BTW, we saw no other hikers and no bicyclists. We may come back and ride our bikes. Kevin
