You’re fortunate, Mary, to live so near such a neat place.

This hike is 20 minutes from my home and this park is a treasure; I never get tired of this trail and the bighorn sheep often seen there (more frequent in winter). Appreciate you identifying that flower-the oyster bed Townsendia; couldn’t find it in any books. Keep celebrating the trails!

Colorado National Monument is pretty much the opposite direction from Rocky Mountain National Park, but if you have time to make it, you won’t be disappointed Tim. More like Utah canyon country, it’s in stark contrast to the high summits of the Rockies.

Am going to Colorado in late August and will take in some of the Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding wilderness areas for about 10 days. Love the pictures and descriptions as always. Guess you will be back in time for the rhodendron blooms in late May.
