A big female with three cubs that was hanging out near my camp in the Bridger Teton National Forest. She wasn’t collared and I had her to myself for 3 to 4 days. I’d often crawl out of my tent in the morning to find her and her cubs grazing contentedly on a nearby hillside. Sows with cubs will often stay close to humans if they don’t feel threatened in an attempt to keep the big males away from their cubs.
