My buddy and I were collecting track casts from #399 and her cubs on the mud flats by Pilgrim Creek in the Tetons when I shot this picture. It shows how we build a mud or stick surround to enclose the track that will contain the plaster when we pour it in. Before pouring in the plaster, I spray the track with the cheapest hair spray that I can find – White Rain is a favorite. It hardens the track and sometimes makes it possible to get multiple casts from single track.
