It seems every mountain I tackle has them…Never do I see the actual summit till I am nearly there. I recently hiked Mt. Bard in the Arapaho NF. The dumb peak had three false summits. The first has been nicknamed “Big Booty Hill” and has a deep saddle above 12,000 feet. On the way down I kept thinking….maybe I can just go around instead of up or over. Oh well. Thanks for sharing a beautiful hike.
