     Spent the weekend stuffing envelopes.

I prepared resumés and cover letters for mailing to 80 businesses in Research Triangle Park. Yes, it's time to get back on the jub hunting bandwagon again. The contract consulting job is up the end of the month. Actually, I've been looking since the first of December.

The area around here in central North Carolina is very nice, so I thought I might focus the flood mailing effort on this vicinity. There is no shortage of high technology business here ... just one problem though. Like the rest of the country, there are more lay offs than hirings going on.

Having a specialty as I do can be a mixed blessing. Jobs in my field are rare, but when there is a need for my skills, companies may hire even when they're reducing in other departments.

So, I focus on the general IT positions where I have experience, but also hope for one to come along that best utilizes my abilities.

My tongue is tired of licking envelopes.
