I am off to
The Triangle area of North Carolina today.
Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill ... Duke
University, North Carolina, NC State ... Tobacco Road, ACC basketball, Research
Triangle Park.
Tomorrow I have what looks to be the most
promising job interview in all the many months I've been looking for work.
It's a call-back for an interview I had
two weeks ago. The original position was for a six month contract. I apparently made
enough of an impression that they want to speak with me again about permanent
placement.
I spent the past few days brushing up
on IBM iSeries servers.
A lot has changed in the four years since I last took the controls of one ... but the
more things change, the more they stay the same. Most of it came back to me.
The drive to Durham is just over four
hours ... east on I-40 all the way. The route takes me through Hickory, Winston-Salem,
and Greensboro. The last time I was there I was greeted
by a thunderstorm. Perhaps this time it will be by a job offer.
