I got approved for unemployment compensation today.
When I got laid off last year, my pension prevented eligibility. This time,
however, because it was a different employer, the pension doesn't count against me.
The benefit is about 90% of what I was making at
the full-time job and will last for 15 weeks or until I get hired. As you can
imagine, quite a stress reducer.
