When the World Wide Web started, he was already older
than dirt. He can't help that.
Yet, in the pioneering days of the Web, when most
of the early participants were less than half his age,
Don Chisholm jumped in with wide-eyed
enthusiasm.
He retired from his day job a couple years ago.
Now he's decided to close up shop online to spend more time with his real life.
A well deserved retirement it is.
I've always found the community aspect of the Internet
to be one of its more compelling attractions. None did community better than Don.
A magnet of the Web awards community, Don did as much as anyone to promote fellowship,
as well as a mantra of continuous improvement.
Don's daily Web presence will certainly be missed,
but the spirit he inspired is obvious in the many friends who are better because of
him.
