"Detonating nail-studded explosives, two suicide bombers wrought death and destruction on central Jerusalem late Saturday." The more this kind of thing happens, the more sickened I become. I have made a conscious effort during my adult life to try and understand the intricacies of the Israeli/Palestinian dilemma. I've read many books — non-fiction as well as history-based fiction. I've looked at both sides equally. I see a number of valid and good points, as well as stupidity and crazed vengeance, on both sides.

The incessant terror and tit-for-tat killing is creating an entire generation that knows no other way. Hate breeds hate. Violence breeds violence. Take all the people from Israel, the occupied lands, and the Palestinian refugee camps ... place them all on the huge continent of Antarctica ... and I bet they would still find reason to blow each other up. Until now, I have not been in favor of an occupying military force to keep the peace. I may be changing my mind. The time has come for extreme measures.

There's some new and refreshing commentary about the Web today. First, from The Head Lemur comes a new project with the catchy moniker Pixelview. The initial salvo contains very interesting give and take about web beginnings and independent content from some of the best known producers around. You will hear from such web luminaries as L. Michelle Johnson, Doc Searls, Joe Jenett, Shirley Kaiser, and Nick Finck. Somehow or other Lemur confused me as belonging in the same company with those folks, but no way, no how.

Then, that Sweet Aspirations lady, Jann, wrote a very insightful piece about web neighborhoods. There is soooo much out there we never ever see, especially if we continue to always hang around the same sites all the time. When I conceived Aortal this past summer, I was hoping for the very type of thing Jann is recommending with her journal today. Get out there and explore ... promote and cross-promote the new and different neighborhoods and communities that you discover. It is, after all, a World Wide Web.

Anyhoo, that's just some of the cool stuff that's out there on this Monday. In fact, it is so cool, you could say it has Coolidge. So, today's Aortal link will initiate the Calvin rating.
